Centre de santé et de services sociaux de Gatineau

Founded on July 5th 2004, Centre de santé et de services sociaux de Gatineau (CSSS de Gatineau) is one of the largest centers in Québec. It gives out health cares and services to some 230 000 people and offers specialized therapies to the Outaouais population and other regions in Québec.
CSSS de Gatineau includes, within its fold, the Gatineau CLSC and CHSLD, the Grande-Rivière CLSC and CHSLD, the Hull CLSC and CHSLD, and two hospitals, l'Hôpital de Gatineau et l'Hôpital de Hull. CSSS de Gatineau employs close to 5000 health and social services professionals whose goal is to maintain and improve Gatineau population's health. There are three first-line directorates within the Centre: Residential and long-term care, Community services and two hospitals, Gatineau and Hull.
The Residential and Long-term care directorate, for persons suffering from loss of autonomy, offers alternative homes, on a temporary or permanent basis, thus helping in maintaining and improving the person's independence. CSSS de Gatineau also provides these people with rehabilitation, psychosocial, nursing, phamaceutical and medical services.
The Community Services directorate offers the population a vast array of general and specific physical health services, mental health services and health promotion as well as community and psychosocial support at home, including services for specific groups, when needed.
The Hospitals directorate is responsible for the provision of general, specialized and ultra specialized care and services to the Outaouais population. These are provided at the two hospitals, Gatineau and Hull.
