User Safety

This component of the Integrated Quality Management Framework concerns both staff and users. The safety of services is an important lever in quality and risk management.

The Centre de santé et de services sociaux de Gatineau (CSSS de Gatineau) has a User Safety Plan 2010-2012 which aims to ensure:

• Evaluation of compliance with Accreditation Canada's 35 Required Organizational Practices;
• Improvement of the safety of services through the implementation of corrective measures resulting from the evaluation;
• Development of an annual action plan in order to determine the work to be done step by step.

In order to ensure user accountability with regards to their own safety, the CSSS de Gatineau has defined best practices identified in the attached poster:
